In order for users to gain access to radiation generating machines, documented completion of radiation safety training (completion of Radiation Safety Modules: Series XRAY Producing Machines and Prenatal Radiation Exposure Training) is needed. In order for users to gain access to instruments capable of analyzing radioactive samples, documented completion of radiation safety training (completion of Radiation Safety Office Training Courses: Radioactive Materials Training and Prenatal Radiation Exposure Training (annual refresher, if applicable)) is needed. Radiation Safety Office Training Courses can be accessed here: https://rso.wsu.edu/wsu-radiation-safety-training/ Users are also required to have and wear at least one finger dosimeter while handling radioactive samples during training sessions on the gamma spectrometers. If a user does not have a finger dosimeter, please contact RSO to request them.
