Zahid Cardenas

Zahid Cardenas is a reactor operator trainee going through the process of obtaining his license here at the Dodgen Research Facility. Zahid has experience operating machinery. He is also qualified and licensed to weld. He is a sophomore at WSU and is working on a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering. When he has free time—Zahid enjoys making art and playing music with his trombone. Growing up around the Hanford Site has inspired him to research the nuclear field and chose a career path within that field. He hopes to one day ease the fear surrounding nuclear power within the nation and implement new ways in utilizing it.
