Sophia Rubero

Sophia is a reactor operator trainee at the Nuclear Science Center. She is a full-time student at Washington State University pursuing a major in chemical engineering and a minor in mathematics. She is also doing undergrad research in vitrification with Dr. John McCloy at the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. This is in preparation for a career at the Hanford nuclear waste clean-up project in Richland, WA. She is determined to pursue a career in nuclear energy or nuclear waste management after she graduates with the skills she is obtaining with the student trainee program.
